Advantages and Disadvantages of Liquid Fuels Over Solid Fuels

The advantages of liquid fuels over solid fuels are as follows:

  1. Requirement of less space for storage
  2. Higher calorific value
  3. Easy handling and transportation
  4. Better control of consumption by using valves and number of burners
  5. Absence of danger from spontaneous combustion
  6. Better cleanliness and absence from dust
  7. Absence of ash problems
  8. No problem of corrosion and deterioration during storage
  9. Higher combustion efficiency

The disadvantages of liquid fuels over solid fuels are as follows:

  1. Higher cost
  2. Greater risk of fire
  3. Require costly containers for storage and transportation
