The velocity distribution in turbulent flow is relatively uniform and the velocity profile of turbulent flow is much flatter than the corresponding laminar flow for the same mean velocity. Irregular motion of fluid particles in turbulent flow is an account of the fact that at any fixed point in space, the velocity and pressure do not remain constant with time, But fluctuate in an irregular manner.
